Photo books don’t have to be about family. 
They can be about any topic that moves you — or Mom, in this case. What does she like? What would she appreciate? Make her a coffee table book that she’ll show to everyone.

Are you a family photo pack rat?
- Do you take tons of family photos — capturing cute moments, special occasions, vacation trips, school activities and the kids’ dance recitals or soccer games?
- Are most of those photos still on your camera?
- Have you put them on your computer, photo CDs or DVDs?
- Do you get them printed, share a few and then stash the rest in a drawer or box?
Ask yourself:

Getting Last Pix for Photo Book
The last couple of cruise days flew by so quickly. We stopped in Juneau for a day
— it’s a city with a good bit of Alaskan charm. Took some photos there that will tell the story in my cruise memory book. Then on to Victoria, British Columbia for a delightful day in this beautiful city with a distinct British flavor. Then back to Seattle. Then home.

Today we get ready to photograph the Hubbard Glacier. It takes several hours for the cruise ship to arrive in Disenchantment Bay, sailing through Yukatat Bay from the Gulf of Alaska. So we had plenty of time to find a great spot on the upper back deck from which we could photograph the glacier.
Clean the Lens. Check the Battery and Memory Card.
We had a great vantage point, my camera was ready and I was not disappointed with the photo opps that this magnificent glacier presented. Besides trying to capture a variety of angles and locations on the glacier, let me tell you about how I captured a panoramic view of the entire ice formation. continue reading
Day 3 of our Alaskan Cruise found us at sea for the day – heading up to the Hubbard Glacier. Plenty of downtime, opportunities for photos at sea and 
plenty of time to do some photo housekeeping. I find it simplifies life after vacation if I sort my photos along the way. That way I’m ready to upload my best shots for a digital photo book right aftter the trip.

The second day of our cruise took us to Ketchikan – a very quaint little coastal town that is absolutely perfect for capturing photo memories. Since access to the town is limited to boat and seaplane, the welcome sign faces out over the cruise ship dock.
Start Shooting Digital Photos from the Ship’s Deck.
The deck of a ship is the perfect location to capture the town “from above.” It gives you such a great view that you can zero in on various sections of town, harbor or mountain backdrop. A mix of these will give you some great shots for your cruise memory book. continue reading
